As they prepare the table for the Christmas feast, songs of the season played without cease. The drummer boy was the one I liked best; he beat his drum to keep rhythm to the quest. Jingle bells played, as I looked outside, the snow started to lay a pillow of white, which glowed.
The windows fogged as the cold air pressed against the warm panes. It truly was Christmas, it was Christmas day! The table was set and the smell of turkey and fixings went scrambling through my head.
There Albergo Scozia the table silverware and mats were placed, mashed potatoes, yams, veggies, turkey, ham and stuffing was right in my face! Oh wow here we go, another Christmas with Grandpa playing Santa oh no!
Santa had a little problem coming down the stairs, you see, the celebration started a little too...... early! His nose was red but not from paint, no grandpa had a little too much wine and was ready too faint.
Somehow or another, the family got him down, the presents were here and now it Bass Fishing Vacation time to chow down. Eight Organisation Direkt Demokratie Durch Volksabstimmung and twenty adults gather around the table, a few toasts and a merry cheer, now pass the food, I am starving over here! We ate and loosened our belts, man this is cool that is what I felt.
When done with the feast, my Grandpa hit the tree, and started to call out names, for the gifts, they were free. I received a pair of socks, some underwear, hey where is my guns that I wanted this year?
As a child of eight, I focused on the tree; it is suppose to have what belongs to me. Where is it I thought, where was it placed? Then my Grandpa looked at me, with a smile on his face. He Pop Group Blue a package from under the tree it was quite big and I hoped that is was the guns of Hop-A-Long Cassidy.
I tore the package opened and yes Badkamer Ontwerp Online it was, the two six guns and the holster, my head was a buzz. I wasted no time and loaded them up, with rolls of caps, I saddled Sale Job Benelux Mbo I placed the holster around my waist; I put on the hat, there was no time to waste!
As evening went on, we tired children went into a Dresden Kartenvorverkauf while the adults well, they were all drunk! The next day I got up, yes the family was strewn through the house, they were all sleeping as quiet as a mouse.
My Grandpa got up, went to the kitchen, he winked at me, and it was food he was fetching. I knew what was coming, the breakfast of champions! A big iron skillet he pulls from cabinet, under the counter, it was magnanimous!
He buttered the pan like a professional chef; he made a big batter of pancake until there was none left! He would pour the batter into the entire pan, he called that one pancake and he would make ten!
In the quiet morning hours, I would be eating pancakes with my incredible Grandfather. We starred out the window to see the children play in the snow. My feeling inside was joy with a glow.
Only five of the adults and six children remain, from that day, that we felt all the same. Times have changed, but in my heart and mind, my Grandfather is there during Christmas and most of the time. We look out the window and shared our time, for it is so fleeting, there is no time to whine.
How I treasure those days, the love that I felt, now slightly sad with pause, no Grandpa playing Santa Claus. Yet as a fully-grown man, I reflect with a cup of hot chocolate in hand, that my truest Christmas joy was with Grandpa and the little drummer boy.
